A researcher from the HES-SO Valais-Wallis invited at Stanford University for a seminar

Active for 10 years in medical imaging with a high level of expertise, the Institute of Information Systems has an international reputation.
Vincent Andrearczyk, a researcher at the Institute of Information Systems HES-SO Valais-Wallis, presented his work last February at Stanford University, at the "Quantitative Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (QIAI)" Laboratory of Professor Daniel L. Rubin.
Through his presentation, entitled "Local rotation invariance in 3D CNNs with steerable filters", the researcher addressed the analysis of medical images in 3D. The latter approach makes automatic analysis more complex because of the wide variety of possible pattern orientations.
In addition, a scientific publication related to this intervention was accepted at the MIDL 2019 international conference.
