Sierre - Uses and technological advances have greatly changed the issue of cyber security. In an increasingly connected world, threats have become very common. To counter this, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis organises a CAS training course in Cyber Security which is aimed at all IT professionals who wish to be up to date with the latest security methods.

According to various studies, almost 9 out of 10 Swiss companies have been victims of cyber attacks in the last twelve months. The challenges of cyber security in companies remain poorly known and therefore poorly taken into account. However, the effects of a cyber attack can seriously impact an organisation's activity.

6 months, 4 modules to acquire concrete skills in cyber security

The HES-SO Valais-Wallis has set up a certifying training course (CAS) covering the entire spectrum of IT security in companies, from governance to strategic and operational security while covering legal aspects. Working on practical exercises based on real-life situations, the participants come away with real added value thanks to the quality of the speakers from the professional environment. Over a period of 6 months, the training offers a complete vision of this ever-evolving field.

From ISO risk analysis to intrusion testing

Coming from the four corners of French-speaking Switzerland, the participants can easily apply the skills in their respective companies. Apart from the theoretical part and practical exercises, 2 concrete projects are carried out for the companies in which they work. The first allows a risk analysis to be carried out according to proven security methodologies, the second allows the participant to develop an initiative of his or her choice through memory work, such as for example: network and application intrusion tests, the implementation of an SIEM or the evaluation of security in the Cloud.

Next academic year: January 2021

The next and third session will start in January 2021. Registration is now open. In view of the health situation, the courses will be given in co-modal mode, i.e. the participant will be able to follow the course in person or by distance learning. The organisers are closely following the evolution of the different guidelines and will adapt accordingly.
