L’Energy Living Lab@HES-SO works in partnership with l'Association Energy Living Lab whose aim is to disseminate the learning from our Living Lab nationally and internationally.

Energy Living Lab projects are based on the principles of the Living Lab Integrated Process (LLIP).  A methodology inspired by Design Thinking, social marketing and the systems approach, developed as part of a PhD thesis by Joëlle Mastelic – head of the «Energie Living Lab @HES-SO».

Living Lab integrative process (Mastelic, 2019)

According to its definition, a Living Lab (LL) is an innovation intermediary that orchestrates an Ecosystem of partners in a specific region to co-create innovative solutions (Mastelic, 2019).

A Living Lab orchestrates the collaboration of four stakeholder groups: public authorities, research institutions, private organizations and residents to develop désirable, feasible and practical solutions.
