Every year, the Haute Ecole et Ecole Supérieure de Travail Social (HESTS) of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis welcomes international students for a semester of study or a practical training placement in a partner organisation.
Practical training lasts for one semester. During this semester, students work full-time in a social institution and have training days at the school. Where necessary, alternative arrangements will be made.
International students who wish to come to study, are welcomed for one semester. In principle, this semester corresponds to the 5th semester of the HESTS programme. In consultation with the Head of International Relations, they choose the courses that interest them and that best meet the pedagogical requirements of their school.
The autumn term runs from week 38 to week 51. The spring term runs from week 8 to week 22.
HESTS offers three programmes: a French-speaking programme, a German-speaking programme and a bilingual programme (French- and German-speaking).
The language level required for French or German is B2, according to the ‘Common European Framework of Reference for Languages’ (more information).
