The mobility programme gives you the opportunity to go away for one of the following three semesters: your first practical training period (3rd full-time semester), a study semester at a partner university (5th full-time semester) or your second practical training period (6th full-time semester).
Study semester abroad:
Going abroad for a study semester allows you to discover another way of approaching social work and its theories. You will also discover other ways of teaching, a different student life and theoretical input that you might never have received in Switzerland. You will gain a deeper understanding of specific aspects of social work, and be able to look at your Bachelor's thesis from a new perspective.
Practical training abroad:
Immersion in a working environment other than the Swiss context(s) represents a unique experience. You will learn from professionals who have their own tools and ways of doing things, and who are confronted with problems that are often very different from those you are familiar with. You will develop your social work skills and experience a decentring process that will open up your perspectives on the profession. You will learn more about your future profession and develop a number of tools that will help you in your professional life.
International module:
Whichever mobility semester you choose, you will be required to take part in the international module, which prepares you for your departure. You will discuss themes such as transculturalism and international social work, exchange with students who have spent a semester abroad, and engage in a reflection on what it means to be immersed in a new country. The module takes place during the spring semester.
Enrolment:
The registration deadline is October 31st for practical training and study semesters in the autumn semester of the following year and the spring semester of the second year after the year of registration.
